The work of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development focuses on the clean efficient use of energy in the built environment. With over 30 research staff, over 50 students, over 180 MSc students, a portfolio of research worth £5 million and excellent facilities, the Institute provides a stable and stimulating research and teaching environment. We are seeking a highly motivated academic wishing to advance their career in a research driven multidisciplinary environment and to lead research in energy and sustainable development. This could include the socio-technical challenges of reducing end use energy demand both in homes and business; the development of urban scale models; people''s attitudes and behaviour; and energy literacy and visiblity.

Applicants should have a demonstrable track record of income generation, supervision and publications which underpins an international research reputation and will contribute to REF2014.
