Tony is a researcher in renewable technologies at IESD, joining in February 2004 to lead the Renewable Energy module on the MSc programme, organise CPD short course training and undertake educational research and consultancy work.
He has degrees in the environmental sciences and postgraduate teaching qualifications, with interests in new designs and technologies for sustainability, focusing on sustainable schools and renewable energy. In addition to being a module leader on the MSc programme, Tony is a lecturer on the DMU undergraduate architecture course and delivers short courses on renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate change. He is also a member of the Bedford Renewable Energy Forum projects committee.
Current work includes an EPSRC funded project on Educating for Sustainability with schools. He is part of STREEM (training in renewables) and a Technology Translator for the INREB Faraday Partnership (for renewable energy technologies) working on a CATALYSE project, supported by The Carbon Trust and carried out in partnership with BRE, to develop training for professionals in the construction industry.
More recently Tony secured funding for and has been the training co-ordinator for the Chevening Fellow's course for the FCO/British Council on 'More Efficient Energy Consumption'. Further work involves a partnership in the New Technology Initiative (NTI) in the East Midlands to provide training for industry in energy efficiency. |
