Peter Boait is a Senior Research Fellow with interests in control systems for energy management, and also in the application of non-equilibrium thermodynamics and bioenergetics to the architecture of large scale systems for energy capture, distribution, and use.
Peter’s first degree was in Electronic Engineering from Southampton University, and he has pursued a career as a telecommunications systems engineer working for GCHQ and the Ministry of Defence, with significant roles in the realisation of major defence projects such as the Defence Fixed Telecommunications Service.
He obtained a PhD in Energy Systems at IESD with a thesis concerning domestic energy management that led to the grant of 5 patents, and is currently engaged on a project jointly funded by EPSRC and Eon called Carbon, Control, and Comfort which will take this work forward through dialogue with users and field trials of prototype systems. |
